Immersive Olympic video experience-call for artists

Just got this mail and thought it could be of interest...

Dear All,

Please find a fabulous opportunity for all artists working with film, DVD, moving image, graphic stories, audio recordings and photographs.

Artists can submit work which then will be adapted for showing within a 360 degree immersive digital panoramic arena. There may also be an opportunity to travel to Plymouth to see how this works (see contact details on the attachment).

Weymouth and Portland are working strategically to try and include the IDA in the 2012 celebrations. A number of venues have been suggested, the current favourite being as part of a “tented village” on the Nothe site, throughout the entire Olympic Period (2/3 months).

The submitted piece could the first stage of a journey towards this goal. The IDA will be shown at other venues and events in the South West in 2011, irrespective of whether the 2012 negotiations for W & P go well or not.

Please pass this on through your networks to target artists working in these media.
